The problem with the OEM preload collar for the 2016 KTM and Husqvarna models is its plastic composition. During use, the heat omitted from the shock body heats up the plastic as well. A combination of this, along with dirt working its way underneath, the plastic collar becomes deformed, which makes tuning and adjustment extremely difficult. Pro Circuit’s solution is very simple. They now offer this CNC-machined 6061 aluminum pre-load collar with a zinc-plated steel lock ring for improved durability and much easier adjustments.
